There’s less than a month to go until the 2019 School Ski Champs and we can hardly contain our excitement!
This will be the first year the event has been organised by school ski trip provider Halsbury Ski, who took over the competition last year. Here are some exciting new things to look out for:
A Special Guest
This year we’ve partnered up with Youth Sport Trust who have organised for a very special guest to join us in Les Deux Alpes. We can’t tell you who it is just yet but stay tuned!
Trip Sweatshirts
We don’t mean to blow our own trumpet, but this year’s design is pretty awesome! We’ll be showing them off on social media before the event, so make sure you’re following us!
Impulse Racing
What Phil Brown of Impulse Racing doesn’t know about skiing, isn’t worth knowing. And the good news is he’s coming back to the ISSC this year as our Chief of Race!
Photo Competition
Across the week we’re running a photo competition. Just tag #SchoolSkiChamps2019 when you post a photo from the champs on social media and you’ll win a customisable ski strap. There’ll also be a bigger prize for whoever posts the best photo of the week!
GCSE and A-Level PE Assessment Help
During the summer former PE teacher and exam board moderator Kaeti joined the ISSC team. Kaeti knows how to make skiing work as the NEA component of GCSE or A Level PE. She’s written a blog post about it but would love to talk to teachers and racers about it during the event too.
Vamoos
These days there really is an app for everything and the ISSC is no different! Vamoos is a handy travel app which allows you to have all your trip details on your phone. Download the free app now from Apple App Store or Google Play Store and we’ll send you the login details nearer the time.
New Medals and Trophies
We’ve redesigned the medals and trophies for this year and we have to say they’re beautiful! Keep an eye on our social media channels for a cheeky sneak peek!

In particular, we want to thank MPI Brokers who are supporting the event again this year. They’re offering ski travel insurance packages which include both ski racing and gate keeping. All those attending the event must have specialist travel insurance which includes these extra inclusions.
Plus, MPI will also be hosting a drinks reception for teachers and parents on the first day and helping out at the awards ceremony at the end of the week!
